Frequently Asked Questions
Everything You Need to Know
Have questions? You’re not alone. Here are quick answers to the most common things people ask before ordering.
How does it actually work?
What if part of the skin tag remains?
Can I use it if I have sensitive skin?
Will it leave a scar?
Does applying the band hurt?
How quickly will the skin tag fall off?
Can PuraSkin™ be used on every skin tag?
How do I know it’s actually a skin tag?
PuraSkin™ uses a method called ligation. A small band is placed around the base of the skin tag, restricting its blood supply. The tag gradually dries out and typically falls off on its own within 7–14 days—without cutting, freezing, or harsh chemicals.
This can happen if the band is placed above the base instead of directly against the skin. Once the area has healed, another band may be applied to the remaining tag by carefully following the included instructions.
Because the system doesn’t use creams or harsh chemicals, the surrounding skin has minimal contact with the treatment. However, temporary redness, tenderness, or irritation may occur. Discontinue use and speak with a healthcare professional if you experience a concerning reaction.
Because nothing is cut, frozen, or burned, the risk of visible scarring may be lower than with some removal methods. However, every person heals differently, so scarring or temporary discoloration cannot be ruled out. Keeping the area clean and avoiding friction may support proper healing.
You may feel a brief pinch, pressure, or mild tenderness when the band is applied. This sensation should become less noticeable over time. Remove the band and seek medical advice if you experience severe or worsening pain.
Most treated skin tags naturally dry out and fall off within 7–14 days. Timing can vary depending on the tag’s size and how securely the band is positioned. Do not pull, twist, or cut the tag off—allow it to detach naturally.
No. It is intended only for suitable external skin tags that fit within the applicator. Do not use it near the eyes, on the eyelids, face, genitals, irritated or infected skin, or on growths that are bleeding, unusually colored, or changing in appearance.
Skin tags can resemble moles, warts, and other skin growths. If you are unsure what the growth is—or if it changes, bleeds, hurts, or has an unusual color or shape—do not treat it yourself. Have it examined by a qualified healthcare professional first.
